The most waited workshop, Behind the Iron Curtain

Two days from now, from 22 October till 25 October 2010 I will be attending the most awaited CG and VFX related event in Romania, Behind the Iron Curtain Workshop. I am saying this because one of my early heroes from this field will be there presenting. I am referring at Alex Alvarez, the guy who influenced a lot of 3D artists from my generation, especially Maya users. Neville Page will also be there, he is one of the best creatures concept artists from the movie industry today. I am also very excited because one of my favorite concept artists from the game industry, Kekai Kotaki will there working live on stage. Thanks a lot, Alina and Marcel!

The second head variant – of course with beard.

Daedalus head gesture digital sculpture sketch

The first sketch version without facial hair. Tomorrow, I will try to render and post the facial hair version of Daedalus head figure. Very soon I will start to work on the entire human figure …still searching a better human dynamic gesture. Rendered in Maya with Mental Ray.

P.S. The new ZBrush 4.0 it’s like …sculpting.

Laying

Woman laying – sculpted in ZBrush, still unfinished.  Realtime render with Hypershot. The main goal here – observation of the foot lump muscular tension in relationship whit  legs and the body,  also a study of fat tissue and how the gravitation can affect him.

Human male anatomy study

I am playing for some time with the Hypershot a real time image render. It’s : “software renderer, that allows anyone within minutes, to create photographic realism with their model”. It is incredible fast and providing excellent results for quick visualization models.
The model was sculpted in ZBrush 3.1 starting from a human base mesh made some time ago.

Rendered with Hypershot.
